well you can adjust all that from the rendering Panel, i mostly use Resolutions around 4096*3040 but anything above 2048*1536 should be enough. Also its important to keep an eye on the iteration cound as this dramatically affects the final image Quality (in terms of noise etc.), i usually use 500-100 here, that should work well with most Fractals.
